Team Feature – David Stevenson National Sales Manager

The attraction of making the seemingly impossible possible

When David Stevenson was looking for a role with an innovative and fast-moving automotive tech company, it was Autofinity which caught his eye.

With 20 years’ experience with leading automotive suppliers – paint and protection provider Autoglym, commerce platform Codeweavers, and DMS providers Reynolds and Reynolds, David joined us a year ago in the newly created role of national sales manager.

“Whilst the company’s key personnel enjoy an auspicious heritage in the automotive sector having made a name for themselves with successful vehicle locator system company 2nd Byte which was eventually acquired by Auto Trader, Autofinity itself is a new, agile and exciting tech provider. Its objective to speed up time to market with consistent, accurate, automated and regular vehicle updates is a much-needed industry innovation.

“For so long, retailers have had to utilise disparate systems to meet specific dealership tasks often requiring double keying, that the inability to have one source of accurate information on a vehicle is still considered par for the course. So, when Autofinity announced its new suite of products around ViHUB, which has been developed to specifically overcome this age-old sector problem, there was no doubt for me that this was a journey I wanted to be a part of and play a significant role in bringing the technology to market.

“By integrating systems and creating one reliable data-rich depository of information for each vehicle which in turn feeds multiple platforms including marketing channels such as dealer and OEM websites and the online classifieds like Auto Trader, ViHUB overcomes issues such as price inconsistencies and spec errors thereby avoiding compliance and legal irregularities. Suddenly, the seemingly impossible has become possible.”

As well as promoting and explaining the system’s ingenuities to dealer groups, David’s role includes partnering with the vast range of automotive system providers to develop ViHub’s integrations.

He added: “It has been an exciting and extremely busy 12-months yet the ViHUB journey is only just beginning.”
